June 15th-22nd, 2019

Join us for this very special EMPOWERING, vegan retreat! Come relax with us for 7 nights in one of the most beautiful locations in southern France. Meals will be designed by our very own vegan chef Christy Morgan. Learn from an expert who has been vegan for 16 years and teaching others how to live a healthful lifestyle since 2004! Our special guest teacher will empower you with martial arts and self-defense classes that every woman can use. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. And you get to see a beautiful part of the world and experience a new culture. This retreat is for WOMEN ONLY.

If you answer “YES” to any of the questions below then this experience is right for you!

  1. Have you been hustling and would like to chill and eat delicious vegan food rather than pack in a ton of activities while on vacation?

  4. Do you think it’s time to start giving yourself love and the attention your body craves to live a healthful lifestyle and could benefit from learning great healthy recipes?

Our beautiful unique stone hamlet is surrounded by a glorious pine and holm oak forests, set in 45 acres of private meadow and woodland in the heart of the Mediterranean mountains of the Languedoc region in southern France about 1 hours north of Nimes. The retreat is isolated in nature for a true peaceful, calming experience. Gardoussel Retreat is named after the hamlet, meaning ‘guardian of the birds’. If for any reason you think you may want to tour around in your free time we recommend renting a car as there is very little public transportation where we are but the nearest village is only a 20 minute walk away. Bikes are available for rent. There are 12 marked hiking trails in and around the village. They have maps with full details so you can do some hiking in your spare time. And a waterfall only 5 minutes away. It’s a magical place!

All rooms are shared with 2-4 people in each room with shared bathrooms. Each room is comfortable and rustic with comfy beds. Limited wifi is available but we encourage you to disconnect. Since we are renting this space with no staff and keeping the price very affordable bedding and rooms will not be cleaned daily and everyone should chip in to help around the house and during meal times.

– 3 months or more prior to experience (before March 1st, 2019): Your entire payment will be refunded minus the non-refundable $250 deposit and a $50 administration fee if you cancel.
Payments are not refundable at anytime 3 months before your retreat for any reason including but not limited to bad weather, illness, medical, personal or family emergencies, job/work related emergencies, natural disasters, acts of terrorism, flight delays or cancellations, change of mind or no-shows. Please get travel insurance in case of any of these emergencies (and purchase “cancel for any reason” addition).
– In the unlikely event that WE must cancel the retreat everything paid to us by you, including the deposit, will be refunded. We however can not be responsible for flights, time off, or any other expense which is why travel insurance is a great idea and mandatory.

Yoga, Fitness, & Martial Arts classes are for all levels, whether you are just starting or a seasoned practitioner. You will get hands-on adjustment and basically will have a private yoga teacher and two personal trainers at your disposal during your retreat!

We are in a beautiful forest area with plenty of walking trails and things to discover in your free time.

Yoga mats and equipment are provided so you don’t have to bring your own if you don’t want. There is no serious trekking during the trip (unless you choose to do it!) but you should be able to walk stairs & cobbled streets comfortably.

Clothing – Be sure to bring appropriate clothing for the weather and time of year. Days are warmish around 70-80F during the day and drop to 50F at night. There is no air conditioning in most places or the guesthouse. A hat, visor, or bandana is advisable for walking. Comfortable clothing for walking, fitness and yoga is recommended. Bring comfortable walking shoes and/or fitness trainers/sneakers for walks, thongs or sandals. Sunscreen is always a good idea!

Other – all your necessities/toiletries, sunscreen, bug spray, alarm clock, plug adapters, mini flashlight, day pack, water bottle and anything else you need!

This not only protects you and your safety abroad, it protects you in case of any last minute changes, unexpected events, or emergencies. You may not hold Christy, tour guides, or anyone at the guesthouse liable for injury and you waive right to any claims or liabilities you may incur during the retreat. Please make sure to include “cancel for any reason” coverage to your insurance policy. Get a quote here for travel insurance. Here’s another company.

You must have a valid passport that doesn’t expire for at least 6 months prior to the trip. Please check with your home country to make sure you may enter each country with a travel visa. This website is very helpful.

    Euros are used in France.

Use this calculator to find your country’s conversion rate. Be sure to have extra money for food/drinks gifts, clothing, and anything else you may want to buy. The best thing is to use an ATM at the airport or in the city of Cusco rather than bringing money to change. You’ll get a better exchange rate. Just be sure to call you bank (and credit cards) before the trip to give them a travel notice.

    Flying directly to Nimes
Other close airports are Montpellier (Ryanair and British Airways) or Marseilles (Buzz and BA among others)
Or if you find a good deal to Paris take the TGV fast train: Paris – Nîmes is under 3 hours.

You have a few choices on how to get to the retreat center which is about 30 minutes outside of Nimes, France. Since people will be coming from all directions at different times you’ll take the bus A12 from Nimes to St Jean du Gard and transport to the retreat center will be included from there. We’ll help match up people coming in around the same time.

We will have 2 pick-ups from St Jean du Gard. Take the A12 bus from the train station in Nimes (called Gare Routière) at 17h30 to where the bus terminates (arr. 18h55). Please try to arrive to Nimes train station no later than 5pm to guarantee you catch the last bus for transfer. Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm.
